Our Product: Why Naartjie
Well, we can’t think of a single reason why not! Designed exclusively in Cape Town by a team passionate about the product they create, Naartjie Clothing has grown from strength to strength over the past 20 years. We strive, wherever possible, to support local industry and 98% of all our product is produced in Cape Town.
We often use the term ‘uniquely Naartjie’ because nobody does it all quite like we do – and we’re pretty proud of that. We deliver 10 fully coordinated ranges for each of our 6 departments every year. That’s new product into our stores every 5 – 7 weeks. These regular launches along with the frequent promotions we run ensure that there is always a reason to make regular visits to our stores.
Our unique mix & match concept ensures the combinations you can create are endless, look in the cupboard of any little Naartjie and you’ll see what we mean. Our prints and colors mix and match with each other so easily... a small red cherry on the cuff of a pant in December becomes embroidery on a shirt in March. A small hint of orange stripe in February, becomes a full over dye color in June. Continuity from range to range helps moms and their kids put together fresh outfits daily which allow each child to wear their favorite top much longer.
Naartjie garments are made almost entirely from 100% cotton fabrics that are pre-shrunk and garment dyed. Garment dying is a process where the entire garment is dyed after being sewn. This is a more expensive process which results in a unique and more vibrant color. Garment dyed clothing has a soft and complex appeal due to the unique washing process used. This process also ensures that our clothes are truly 100% preshrunk. That means that after washing you will not be disappointed in the fit and feel of your Naartjie clothing. At Naartjie we take the time to make sure that everything that you buy from us is soft and comfortable and will be the first thing your child reaches for every morning. These clothes are soft and cuddly just like the children that wear them.
We love what we do so we hope that you have as much fun wearing our garments as we have making them for you.
